About
Who I am
Born in Malta in 1980, I attended St Edward’s College (Malta) between 1986 and 1993 after which I completed my secondary school in Downside School (UK) between 1993 and 1998. Having completed my schooling I returned to Malta where I read law at the University of Malta, completing a B.A Legal and Humanistic Studies in 2002, a Notarial Diploma in 2003 and obtaining my Doctorate in Laws (LL.D) in November of 2005. As the Financial Crisis of 2008 took hold I began to read a Masters in Finance and Financial Law at the University Of London (MSC) which I completed in 2012.
“I believe in leveraging legacy and lessons from the past to foster innovation that lasts”
The most formative years of my career were spent in the Banking Industry in Malta. Starting out my career in 2007 with Sparkasse Bank Malta Plc at the dawn of the worst banking and financial crisis in generations would help shape the forma mentis that would gradually define my understanding, approach and perspective of finance and financial services. Over the course of that over 10 year stint I would be involved in managing the Private Banking (investment services), Onboarding and Payments departments of the Bank and be an active member in the Bank’s Executive Committee as well as be Company Secretary to the Board of Directors of the Bank.
Since the departure from the bank in 2017 I have sought to apply the experience accumulated in financial services in a consultative capacity within the fields of Wealth Management, Investment Services and the Payments industry as well as through the non – executive directorships on the boards of licensed firms operating in these industries.
